For example, the user can understand the English language website in Arabic on the access. Such information is quoted from the Telegraph, Tuesday (2/3/2010).

By implanting a new innovation on the browser, Google is attempting to not less than competitors Internet Explorer (IE) produced by Microsoft. As is known, at the time almost in unison, Microsoft provides a ‘browser Ballot’. This feature is the way Microsoft took the hearts of the user’s browser by giving the freedom to use a browser other than IE.

Internet Explorer HTML5 Video Tag Support

February 22nd, 2010 No Comments   Posted in software

Internet Explorer 8 does not support the new HTML5 tags video or canvas and neither do previous versions of the Microsoft web browser. It is likely that Internet Explorer 9 will be released with full or at least partial support for those tags.

Christian Adam has released an experimental add-on for Microsoft’s Internet Explorer that adds support for the video tag to the web browser.

The project is still highly experimental but it could become an option for Internet Explorer users who would like to (or have to) work with HTML5 video.

The screencast above explains how support for the HTML5 video tag can be added to Internet Explorer. The developer provides a setup on his website that needs to be executed. This file adds the support.

A demonstration video is linked from the blog post as well which can be used to test the support of the HTML5 video tag. It did not work for us in our Internet Explorer 8 browser.

It is likely that the developer will continue improve the Internet Explorer extension so that it becomes more stable and reliable.

Visit IE video tag – Take Two on Christan Adam’s weblog to access the original announcement and downloads.

Browser Keyboard Shortcuts Not Working On Some Websites

February 19th, 2010 No Comments   Posted in Opera

If you browse the Internet a lot and use keyboard shortcuts to speed up the browsing you will have encountered the following behavior. If you happen to visit a site with embedded content, such as Flash or a document that is being displayed on the page, then you cannot make use of the keyboard shortcuts. All the shortcuts, like pressing CTRL T for opening a new tab, CTRL R or F5 for reloading or CTRL W for closing a tab, do not work on those pages.

This is standard behavior in Mozilla Firefox, Opera and Google Chrome but not Microsoft’s Internet Explorer which as the only web browser of the four most popular ones support keyboard shortcuts on those websites.

Maybe you want to try it out for yourself. Visit Tuneglue, a music discovery service using Flash. If you work in the interface and the focus of the cursor is on the page then keyboard shortcuts are not working.

There are lots of threads by users about this problem which has been acknowledged by the developers but nothing has been done about it so far.

The only option users have at this point is to use the mouse to move the focus from the plugin to the web browser again which will make the keyboard shortcuts works again.

Has anyone else experienced this issue and would like to share their findings?
