We really, really want this to be true…

OLPC has unveiled a $100 concept tablet, dubbed the XO-3, designed to provide computing access to children in developing countries – but if it looks anything like the concept art we wouldn’t mind getting our hands on one either.

This is the third concept to come out of the OLPC – One Laptop Per Child – labs; a company striving to produce cheap computing solutions using the latest tech.

OLPC has already created a more traditional looking laptop for under $100, but it doesn’t quite have the wow factor bestowed upon this model.

So far, the original has been distributed to more than 1.4 million in 35 countries, proving that OLPC can act on their concept tech.

Although it’s easy to be sceptical about concept tech, the XO-3 noble aspirations are definitely worth believing in. We really, really hope this gets made.
