Search giant gets real

Google announces that information from Twitter and Facebook will begin to feature in search results. The latest relevant tweets will scroll across the results page in real time, according to Google. Google has announced that real-time news from Twitter and other information from the Internet will start appearing in its search results.

“Now, immediately after conducting a search, you’ll be able to see live updates from people on popular sites like Twitter and Friendfeed, as well as headlines from news and blog posts that have been published seconds ago,” said Google in a statement. “All of these updates are ranked to show the freshest, most relevant results related to what you’re looking for.”

There have also been reports that BT is in talks with Google to provide a video streaming service for ISPs. The digital delivery network would potentially enable higher-quality streaming over a seperate video network.
