Sony’s VAIO X Series is one of the most staggeringly tiny laptops we’ve seen yet, proving smaller, thinner and lighter than, if you can believe it, the Apple MacBook Air. The use of an Intel Atom processor invites inevitable comparisons with the current crop of netbooks, but rest assured that this sub-800g machine is something else entirely.

And now for something completely different, on the X Series the motherboard has all the components soldiered to one side of it only, to make it even thinner. The components are also all crammed into the rear of the machine, with the front half taken up entirely by the battery. More »
