Opera claims their latest browser, Opera 10:50 as the fastest browser ever produced for Windows computers.
According to Opera CEO Lars Boilesen, with this browser users do not need to wait long when accessing the website.
“10:50 Opera is the fastest browser on almost all speed tests. We designed Opera 10:50 to ease its function and users can get more advantages when accessing the web,” he said as quoted by Boilesen Info World, Wednesday (3/3/2010).
There are other additional features in this browser which is a more complete design and private browsing. Opera presents a new menu button that replaces the traditional menu bar, making it easier for users to gain access to the features of Opera single.
“This browser is also developing support for HTML5 and Cascading Style Sheets 3, making it easier for web designers to build interesting applications based on open technology,” explained Boilesen.
10:50 version also supports the Aero Glass feature of Windows and Vista. Other capabilities such as Opera turbo to compress web pages and complete the faster content is still maintained.
Opera Mini Performs in Windows Mobile
OSLO – Opera Mini continues to develop into a variety of mobile platforms. Most recently, from the Norwegian browser Opera Mini is preparing to run on the Windows platform Phone, which is Windows Mobile 5 and Windows Phone 6.5.
“Windows Mobile decent surf using better handling and delivery, rather than the general surfing tool,” said Dag Olav Norem, Vice President Opera Software products, as quoted by Cnet, Friday (5/3/2010).
“Although Opera has satisfied 50 million Opera Mini users, we are always seeking to improve browsing tool for all mobile phone users out. Now, we are happy to offer a tool applications in the world’s best surfing on mobile applications,” he added.
Added to him, the traditional Opera Mini requires Java tools, but not so with the new version of Windows Mobile, which means that Opera Mini will work on all Windows-based mobile phone.

Browser Keyboard Shortcuts Not Working On Some Websites
If you browse the Internet a lot and use keyboard shortcuts to speed up the browsing you will have encountered the following behavior. If you happen to visit a site with embedded content, such as Flash or a document that is being displayed on the page, then you cannot make use of the keyboard shortcuts. All the shortcuts, like pressing CTRL T for opening a new tab, CTRL R or F5 for reloading or CTRL W for closing a tab, do not work on those pages.
This is standard behavior in Mozilla Firefox, Opera and Google Chrome but not Microsoft’s Internet Explorer which as the only web browser of the four most popular ones support keyboard shortcuts on those websites.
Maybe you want to try it out for yourself. Visit Tuneglue, a music discovery service using Flash. If you work in the interface and the focus of the cursor is on the page then keyboard shortcuts are not working.
There are lots of threads by users about this problem which has been acknowledged by the developers but nothing has been done about it so far.
The only option users have at this point is to use the mouse to move the focus from the plugin to the web browser again which will make the keyboard shortcuts works again.
Has anyone else experienced this issue and would like to share their findings?
